The Copyright Guide
A Friendly Guide to Protecting and Profiting from Copyrights
by Lee Wilson, 194 pp.

This is a complex and widely misunderstood topic that can get you into a lot of trouble or make you a lot of money. Though the other law books cover this topic in a chapter or two, a thorough understanding deserves a whole book. What it boils down to is this: If you etch a copy of someone else's logo or artwork without permission, you are potentially liable for damages in a lawsuit. If you have permission, you could make a lot of money by selling the products, even if you have to pay a royalty to the copyright owner. You can also make money by coming up with your own copyrighted designs and selling or licensing them to someone else.

Did you know that copyright is not one right but a bundle of different rights? Or that any one of these rights can be severed from the others and sold or licensed? Or that, as of March 1, 1989, you have can have automatic copyright in an original work without putting the copyright notice on it? Do you know what you have to do to recover damages from someone copying one of your designs, or what you have to do to protect yourself from a lawsuit if one of your customers brings you a design and neglects to tell you it is copyrighted by someone else?

Well, then, you need this book! The designs in our Design Book 1 are copyrighted. Did you know you can use them for personal use (as with most design collections) but not for resale without permission? Do you know where to find that information in a book of designs? If you etch products for resale, get this book today.
